Area Ocean Manager, Thailand/Myanmar

Salary range: THB 80,000 - 130,000 
Location: Bangkok
Type of Business:  the world's leading freight forward and supply chain management services

Role & Responsibility
•   Manage and drive ocean forwarding product growth through leadership and guidance.
•   Ensure alignment and development in Ocean product and operational activities across the area (Thailand and Myanmar).
•   Lead and support local carrier managers in the liaison and the procurement activities.
•   Identify area's market trends, potential and customer needs, expand and explore new market opportunities.
•   Support the packaging and the communication of the Ocean freight product offering across the area.
•   Act as technical resource for the area and actively engage with existing and new customers for their continuous support.
•   Give functional guidance and expertise to support the local operations teams.
•   Drive optimization of margin and volume mix within the area through product and commercial initiatives rolled out from Regional Ocean Product.
•   Drive and manage KPI programs internally within the area to drive corporate efficiencies, reduce overall operations cost.
•   Drive development of products in close cooperation with Area/Regional Ocean Product/overseas network and facilitate trade lane development as per overall strategy.
•   Cooperate closely with global carrier management team/LCMs and drive implementation of carrier management strategy across region.
•   Ensure relevant governance and compliance within the area in accordance with standards.

Qualifications
•   Thai Nationality
•   5 years of experience in NVOCC, Freight Forwarding, Ocean forwarding, with part of the experience focusing on operations and/or customer service.
•   Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•   Team player with proven ability to work under pressure.
•   Ability to balance operational priorities with commercial imperatives.
•   Strong drive, initiative and engagement – ability to work self-directed and well organised.
•   Good speaking and writing English communication skills.
